My machine has stopped working
The PLX-Benchtop is not working
- Check that power is going to the machine – fans in the top casing should be audible and the LEDs should be visible.
- Check that the computer is connected (via both USB and Ethernet) to the PLX-Benchtop.
-
Check that the emergency stop is not pressed in. If it is, twist to release.
-
Check if you are at the top/bottom of the range of the crosshead, such that the limit switches are engaged.
-
If this is the case, move the crosshead towards the opposite limit using the arrows in the GUI.
-
-
Open the most recent Log file (Help > Show Log File) and check for comment 'Failed to connect to drive D1'.
-
This indicates that the motor controller is not communicating with the PC and may require an update to the Ethernet port settings.
-
- Check if there are no load and LVDT readings on the GUI screen.
- This indicates that the DAQ is not recognised. Restart the machine and software.
- Check if there is no profilometer reading, which will result in the message 'No profilometer reading' in the status panel.
- Restart the machine and software.
- Check if there is a connection issue with the profilometer stages, which will result in the message 'No stage x/y reading' in the status panel.
- Restart the machine and software.
- Check if 'Devices Not Ready' is showing.
- Close CORSICA, turn off the power to the PLX-Benchtop, disconnect the USB cable.
- Reconnect the USB, return power to the PLX-Benchtop and reopen CORSICA.
- If this does not work, turn off the power to the PLX-Benchtop and restart the PC and CORSICA.
